Kitchen before and after

Since I have been a terrible wife and mother lately and have not been cooking (and therefore have no recipes to share) I thought I would show you our kitchen before and after pictures. We couldn't afford a complete kitchen overhaul so we opted for painting the cupboards and adding hardware. I should show you a picture of the granite to you can see why we chose the colors we did...maybe next time. Ok here's before: (Please excuse the dusty wine bottle, this picture was taken before we moved in!)

and after:

The tile in the kitchen is a light gray and we have blue on the walls. The granite is black with silver and blue flecks. We opted for gray cabinets to tie it all in. What do you think? I actually like the color and how the kitchen now feels more planned and finished but the gray has made the room much darker.

I can't believe I'm posting this picture but I was too lazy to clean the table off. Here's our kitchen table and the other corner of the room. Please ignore the disgusting mess on the table and take notice of Mia's cute shoes.

If your kitchen needs a little style and a new look, painting the cabinets is a really cheap way to go compared to replacing them. Adding hardware was also a cheap way to add to the look.

You had no reason for a gut job! It turned out beautifully! We did some serious remodel/rehab to the house we owned in NH. I think you were so smart to add handles. Adding/changing handles can give the cabinets a completely different style.

With the granite and the SS appliances, your modern look is perfect!

Wow! I love LOVE it! The cabinets you had are a lot like ours now. They are original with the house. My house was built in the 50's...I know...we need to upgrade badly. It's just finding the money to do it all!

They look fantastic and so modern. What kind of paint did you use? Did you sand, too?

It looks great Ashley. Good idea. I'm filing that info away for when we have a kitchen again.

Wow, it looks amazing. Wish we had that kind of paint skill. We painted our guest bathroom and livingroom, I like it and it's good for people who have never painted anything in our lives, but it could be better.
Great Job!

oooo, turned out great! I keep trying to convince my husband that we need to paint our cupboards, but he's not buying it. I really like the colors you chose.

This looks amazing! And the best part is that you can accent with different bright colors and change them whenever you feel like it! It's simply gorgeous!

I really like the gray. It looks very sleek! Is Mia wearing jellies?! So cute. And you call that a mess? Please!

That looks terrific! So funny too, the first Home Tour Tuesday at the beginning of the year will be a showcase of a new room reno or redesign! This would be perfect!

Y'all did a fantastic job! Lucky you!

Really gorgeous, I love the colors and it'll be so much fun to add little pops of colors here and there since they give you a blank slate to work with!

I would LOVE to redo my kitchen, maybe one day when some money rolls in lol!

Great job, it's beautiful!

Looks nice. We love Shutterfly, too, if I'm correct in thinking that those are boxes from Shutterfly on the table.
